Jess found a new "toy" tonight. Have to explain to her that Possums aren't for playing with. She is a FAST dog. Managed to get to mummy possum, resulting in baby possum falling off. This is baby..
Cute little tyke. We have put baby back out in a towel for mum to collect. If she doesn't I will take her to the vet tomorrow and get her into foster. I would like to do this myself, somehow don't think baby would agree with that, would be safer elsewhere!
The end result of all the excitement was Jess in timeout. Dogs don't really understand time out. Jess doesn't distinguish between outside chasing a possum and inside chasing a Chicken. So we are losing another foster.
Have had a pretty bad run lately. We managed to get through quite a few dogs with no dramas. Then a couple took a liking to Chicken, and not in a Patch "I really, really want you to like me!" way.
Is tough on Patch and bad for my ego. I know that at the end of the day it is just how things go, some are ok with cats, some are not. We just seem to have had a run of those who aren't.
In contrary to our very bad evening we had a lovely afternoon. Patch has a little friend at the dog park. She jumps all over her and tries to lick her through the muzzle, Patch thinks this is great and lets Sophie do what she pleases.
Sophie is a Black Lab puppy, all of 16 weeks. She is a gorgeous little dog, very outgoing. She follows Patch round and loves to play with her.
Patch is a great ambassador for the gentle greyhound nature. She puts up with all manner of things from the dogs at the park with good grace. She just loves the company and makes sure she goes and says hello to each and every human too. Tail wags and happy shakes for all.
Downside of tonight is that Jess will be leaving us tomorrow. Chicken is sacred and any dog that chases him is shown the door. As she is still here and Chicken doesn't yet realise she will shortly be going he has hatched a devious plan.
He is going to disguise himself. He will be Incognito Chicken.
To achieve this he will first apply fake tan.
Then invest in some aviator sunnies and a trench coat.
He is having small issues as he has no opposable thumbs and the cap is proving tricky.
Patch wants nothing to do with all these shenanigans. She is choosing to blend into the furniture and take no part in any of it. She is innocent and embarrassed by the behaviour of her fellow 4 leggers.
