Before we fostered greyhounds The Chicken was a kind sweet cat. 3 days of hiding under the bed when our first grey arrived changed him somewhat. On the third day he was reborn a tormenter of sweet puppies. He has always been top of the food chain, and he figured that no dog was going to take that away from him. The other cat that lives with us "Bleh" is still a sweet kitty, he wants to be friends with the dogs. Sadly that isn't going so well as they are all emotionally crippled by surprise attacks from Chicken.
I just want to say hello! Peach is somewhat wary of this approach.
We have one dog this week, last week we had 3. That was fun, Blaze'n'Dory and Peach. Blaze is the greyhound that stole our hearts and Dory is Peach's sister. Blaze was the first, then Dory came along, we were doing good with the two of them, they got on fine and formed an agreement with Chicken that if nobody ate the cat food nobody got hurt. All good.
Got a call to ask if we could look after Peach for the weekend, sure, why not, Dory and her only count for 1 dog anyway! Was all set to take Peach home on Sunday when Kirsty decided that instead she would take my little Dory away. Not real happy about that one, but probably the best thing for her as she had become somewhat attached to me. So we were to keep Peach and Blaze, doesn't sound as good as Blaze'n'Dory...
Little Dory in her favourite spot, my lap. She was little enough to fit which was novel as a full size greyhound doing the same isn't very comfortable!
Then there were two. Or so I thought. Took Blaze and Peach to a promo and fully expected to take them both home at the end of the day. This was not to be. Blaze's nw family had come to meet him, and predictably fell for him on the spot and promptly bundled him into the car and took him away. I meantime was sitting in a quiet corner crying. Blaze had become part of the family and we loved him, was so sad to see him go but can report now that he is living the high life, going to the beach and being treated like the royalty he is. Sigh.
How can you not love this boy?
And now there is one. Peach. The most comical dog I have encountered, she is all legs and only seems to have track of three at any one time. The world is still a scary place for her and with Chicken on the rampage she has reason to be paranoid. Were working on that but can't seem to source a muzzle to fit my darling cat! She does get some peace and as with all kids they are most adorable when they are sleeping...
