I did think one day (in the way distant future...) that Patch and The Chicken may come to live together in harmony. Seems they are still a little rocky but now have a common cause.
Chicken wants the other greys gone. Patch is feeling a little overwhelmed.
If I can't see them then they are not there!
She is not unhappy. She is just maybe a little insecure. She has not been our forever dog for long, her mind is a little bent by all the comings and goings of various fosters. I think what she is having trouble with is the confidence that Tamale displays.
This was her this morning, she refused to get up and go outside, it was 6am.
6am, are you crazy? I'm on holidays here... geez.
Unlike Star who very much vies for attention, which also upsets Patch as Star is a BIG girl and pushes her out the way, Tamale knows that she has totally devoted doting humans and she doesn't need to scramble for first cuddles. She has a lifetime of them to collect at her leisure. And I must say, she gives excellent cuddles, she lay with me for ages last night.
So while the two young ones are battling for attention she sits back and watches. Patch is a little put out by Star pushing her out the way as I always try to greet Patch first so she knows that she is up on the pecking order (still below The Chicken though!) She is finding it tough but doing ok.
I have more issues looking after one Jack Russell than 3 greyhounds. Found out dog sitting charge had cut his paw today. Nothing too serious, just a trail of blood out by the back door that had me in a state of panic until I worked out where the dog was and where said blood came from. With any luck it will stop him from attempting to dig his way out of the yard. We have been lucky so far, this little dog is notorious for escaping and we have had a whole week without incident. Yay me.
